For generations, devotees have worshipped the Swayambhu Goddess as the Grama Devata who protects surrounding villages and blesses families with courage, well-being and prosperity.


Local oral tradition holds that Sri Anjeramma Thalli manifested at this sacred site through a miraculous event or divine dream. The Goddess came to be revered as the guardian deity of S.V. Puram, Vadamalapet and nearby villages.
For more than three centuries, Pujari families have continued the worship traditions. In 1998, family members bearing the “Pujari” surname formed the Anjeramma Gudi Trust to preserve and serve the temple.
